Nemecio Alforque, was Papa Mesyo to his children and close family members, or Noy Mesyo to other friends or relatives. He was born in Cantaoan, Naga, Cebu, Philippines, the eldest of several siblings born to Procopio and Maria Alforque.
Like his father and brothers, he was a small-time merchant involved in the buy-and-sell of livestock, especially carabaos. He bought stock from Cebu and then took them to Mindanao to sell them at a handsome profit. Unfortunately, due to some unexplained reasons, he stopped doing this business early.
He is survived by children – Leonor, Rudy, Edring, Linda, Bebeng, Daling, and Teddy.
